Q: What is the best part about being back on the gridiron with everything going on right now?

A: I think the best part about being able to play football is seeing my teammates work hard and play hard. This team has had a lot of integrity during this pandemic, we’re staying strong and working together through these tough times right now.

Q: What are your personal and team goals for the season?

A: My personal goal for this season is to put more effort into getting more sacks and showing how tough I can be on the field. A team goal that I would like to accomplish this season is to get more win and close out games.

Q: How do you prep for the Friday night lights, what are your pregame rituals?

A: I enjoy listening to playlist as a pregame ritual, the playlist that gets me hyped up is called “ready to work”. I like to keep myself focused and I envision what I’ll do during game time. After my games I like to come out of the locker room and see my family there waiting for me, they love and support me no matter what, I am truly thankful for them.

#79 Matthew Roman, OL 6’3″, 245Ibs.

Matthew Roman will be looking to have a great season read what he has to say about the upcoming season.

Q: What is the best part about being back on the gridiron with everything going on right now?

A: It’s been a long wait, and I feel like the longer I waited, the more and more I wanted to play. So now that we’re back and able to play, I’m even more hyped up and excited to play. It’s been a long and hard quarantine, and it’s finally time to get back on the field and play ball.

Q: What are your personal and team goals for the season?

A: My goal is to exceed my own expectations on what I can do, while also having the best time of my life. As a team, my goal is to get us to playoffs, and beyond that, but I’m taking it one step at a time.

Q: How do you prep for the Friday night lights, what are your pregame rituals?

A: My ritual is to just zone in. I put on some music, sit in the corner and focus. I let my mind go free and let my thoughts and prayers fill my mind. I keep the hard times in the front of my mind because it motivates me. Knowing I’ve been at the bottom of the barrel gives me momentum. It angers me and it gives me energy and motivation. I tell myself that everything in my life that I’ve struggled with or failed with, has lead to this moment. Nothing else matters, it’s all about the game. All I gotta do is go out and play.
