Alabama’s 2021 class lands its first Texan and its none other than Dundavinville linebacker, Kendrick Blackshire.
Blackshire is a 6’2 250-pound inside linebacker. He’s a four-star inside linebacker via the 247Sports Composite. He’s ranked as the seventh-best at his position for the class of 2021 and the 26th best player overall in the state of Texas.
Blackshire was going to commit on July 4th but pushed it back to be able to commit on his grandma’s birthday. Blackshire narrowed down his recruitment to his final-six in late April. He chose Alabama over Baylor, Illinois, LSU, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M>
Prior to his junior season, Blackshire played at Horn. As a freshman, he was the district 11-6A Co-Defensive Newcomer of the Year. He, unfortunately, missed all of his junior season with an ACL injury.
Blackshire becomes the 12th hard commit for Alabama’s 2021 class as he propels them to the number 10 rank nationally via 247Sports.
Duncanville has fallen to North Shore in the 6A D1 state championship game in back-to-back seasons. They’re among the favorites to be there again in 2020.
Blackshire looks to bring Duncanville home a state championship before going off to Alabama to get a national championship.
