Q: What is the best part about being back on the gridiron with everything going on right now?

A: The best part about being able to play football during these difficult situations, is being able to have another opportunity that will make a difference in my life forever.

Q: What are your personal and team goals for the season?

A: My personal goal this football season is to minimize my mistakes to become the best at my position, also to improve my character as a football player to help my team be successful. A team goal that I want to accomplish is to help each other get better on and off to the field. The reason why is because, I want my teammates to get noticed by college coaches as well, and hopefully earn an athletic scholarship to play football. My last goal is to win a state championship, because I believe in our abilities as a team, mentality and physically.

Q: How do you prep for the Friday night lights, what are your pregame rituals?

A: Before every game when I try to separate myself as much as I can from everyone. I just try to focus on the game. I think my most important pregame ritual, is when we’re standing for the National Anthem, and I just start to think about why I play football. After we get out of our tunnel and start to pray at the goal line, I think about the reason why I am here. After that, I thank God for another opportunity to play football because I know there are other people who are unfortunate to not be able to play, so I don’t ever take my chance for granted. Lastly, I think to myself to appreciate every moment I have and to give it my all, because I don’t want to have any regrets.

#2 Dywane Ford Jr, WR 5’10”, 170Ibs.

Dywane Ford Jr hopes to continue the tradition of stellar Matador receivers, read what he has to say about the upcoming season.

Q: What is the best part about being back on the gridiron with everything going on right now?

A: It is a nice get-away and being able to play football. High school football is something to be remembered and especially with these times, this will be memorable. This is my last season so one more ride with the guys is awesome.

Q: What are your personal and team goals for the season?

A: Personal goals – I statistically want to improve, I also want to take on more of a leadership role for the younger guys. Team goals would be to have another undefeated season in El Paso and go far in the playoffs.

Q: How do you prep for the Friday night lights, what are your pregame rituals?

A: Little to no communication and just play some music, every game is different so playlist varies.
