Deion DeBlanc, a five star wide receiver eagerly waiting to be cleared for an opportunity to play for the first time this season. DeBlanc transferred from Aldine Eisenhower to Galena Park North Shore prior to his sophomore year. Ranked in the top 10 at his position, DeBlanc is one of the fastest rising stars in the class of 2025 and a true game changer. There’s a great chance he’ll get to play in this upcoming postseason as the Mustangs look to make another deep playoff run. We recently spoke with Deion about his football background. Take a look.
I want to know your first memory playing football as a kid.
When I scored my first touchdown. I was in the second grade, it was like the best day ever.
Who is the most influential person(s) in your life right now that keeps you level-headed?
I feel like it is my mom and my WR trainer because he is not all about my football, it’s about my life too.
What are your game day rituals?
First I have to make sure I have all my stuff for the game, starting off with my cleats, helmet, then listen to one sound before I get on the bus.
What’s the hardest part about being a student athlete these days with social media and how does it affect you off the field?
Personally I feel that it doesn’t make me lose focus because I have days when I don’t bring my phone places.
How would you best describe your playing style and what’s your favorite thing about your position?
I like my position so much because I can show my speed and score and I feel like I play like OBJ.
Which pro player(s) (current or retired) you relate to the most and why?
OBJ because his speed and route running.
How have any of your high school coaches played an important role in your life?
By making me great and making me grind each and every day.
What are your individual goals as a player?
Making it to the NFL because that is what I promised my granny before she passed.
If you wasn’t an athlete, what could you see yourself doing?
I could see myself being a welder because it pays good money.
What would you like for recruiters to know about you?
That I am all about the work and business.
