Today, we breakdown the UIL’s response to COVID-19 and their decision to alter the Texas high school football schedule. Following their decision, the schedule of 6A & 5A football conferences will be pushed back by 4 weeks (September 24). In addition, they announced that the smaller conferences’s schedule will remain the same.
However, local counties are further complicating the matter. For example, many counties that are located in urban areas have elected to prohibit beginning football on time. This especially will impact smaller schools that remain in these counties as their schedule has not been delayed.
