James Lott's Prospect Breakdown
Strengths: Possesses good physique, with athletic build for the RB Position. Can easily transition his run from inside to outside without losing any speed. Shows inpressive initial burst to create space on big runs. Home run hitter who can take it to the house from anywhere on the field. Vison ball carrier who knows where all 11 defenders are at all times. Very shifty in open field without having to hesitate. Uses jump-cut at the line of scrimmage to change gaps and avoid tacklers. Runs the ball with excellent burst and quickness. Uses very effective spin move to make defenders lunge and miss in the open field. Keeps his feet moving in very tight places. Excellent agility and balance jumping over opponents diving at his legs. Shows the ability to consistently beat defenders to the edge and turn the corner. Plus lateral agility and acceleration. Very legit pass catching option on 3rd down.
Bottom Line:Â Starter at Aledo since his freshman year. Ran for 5200 yards in his career so far. 2x State Champion. State Championship Offensive MVP in 2016. Named a first-team Class 5A all-state selection by the AP as a junior. Committed to Oklahoma since July 2017.
