Talking Air Force Commitment with North Forney DT Roderick Brown Jr.

On July 8, via his twitter, North Forney defensive tackle Roderick Brown Jr. narrowed down his top-five to the Air Force, Army, Navy, Lamar and Northwestern State. He shut down his recruitment yesterday by committing to the Air Force.

“The environment and brotherhood that will come with it,” Brown said.

North Forney tight end, Kameron Allen committed to Michigan State at the end of April. Earlier this month North Forney running back Ty’Rondric Collins committed to Nevada. Now, Roderick Brown shuts down his recruitment too.

Brown Jr. is a three-star commit via 247Sports. He’s ranked as the 120th defensive tackle and the 330th player overall in the state of Texas for the class of 2021.

At Dallas Kimball as a sophomore, Brown put up 40 tackles, 17 for a loss, seven sacks, and a forced fumble. As a junior at North Forney, he put up 48 tackles, 25 for a loss, six sacks a forced fumble and an interception en route to being named first-team all-district.

“With the size I am, my athleticism, and work ethic,” Brown said on his success.

North Forney finished 7-3 last season but disappointingly missed the playoffs as they finished 5-3 in the district. A 49-38 loss to Greenville was the difference between playoffs and no playoffs.

The Falcons in 2020 are returning Allen, Brown, Collins, and quarterback Acuna. Look for them to make some serious noise.

“To win state,” Brown said on the goal for this year.

Roderick Brown is the 23rd hard commit to Air Force’s 2021 class that ranks number 104 nationally. He’s the this Texan joining cornerback Dru Polidore (Katy) and quarterback Ty Reasoner (Claudia Taylor Johnson.)

“I’m going to bring a variety of things to the table,” Brown said.
