James Lott's Prospect Breakdown

Strengths: Press, long cover corner with disruptive length to fluster receivers
and the makeup speed/leaping ability to stymie downfield attacks. McCutchin
makes more plays on the ball than I’ve seen in a young CB in a long while.
Has innate ability to jam and trail receivers and shut down half of the field.
Dominant athlete who plays with a chip on his shoulder. Sprinter on the track
team. Prototypical frame for a big, dominant corner. Also excels at S, WR and
as a returner on the punt and kick team. Elite leaper who can challenge jump
balls against anyone. Uses long frame to redirect and receivers before they
even get into their routes. Excellent feet and athletic ability to put his foot in the
ground and drive back on comeback routes. Exceptional length and closing
speed make it almost impossible to beat him over the top. Uses aggressive
hands to rip and rake to ball out of receiver’s hands. Very aware and instinctive
from zone and off coverage. Wrap up tackler.

Bottom Line: Alabama commit since June 2019

Grade: 9.25
