James Lott's Prospect Breakdown

Strengths: I first saw Davis play last year at several 7 on 7 tournaments in the spring. Blue-chip athlete with elite package of size, speed and fluidity at the receiver position. Plays the Z receiver more but better equipped for the slot at the next level. Davis’ athletic and big-play ability could create a coverage nightmare for defenses that are trying to slow him down this fall. Very gifted athlete, but he needs to add more polish as a route-running to become a well-rounded target. Extremely explosive athlete with excellent get off the LOS. Excellent hands to snatch the ball out of the air. Can generate separation at all three levels of the field. Muscular and strong lower body to break tackles after the catch. Recently showed improved hands over the summer going into fall season. Good jumping ability to go up and snatch balls out of the air. Excellent acceleration to split would-be tacklers with the ability to house-it from anywhere on the field. Capable ability as a returner in the kicking game.

Bottom Line: Committed to Texas

Grade: 9.25
